Job Description :

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS MANDATORY

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Certification or demonstrated qualification to conduct ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory assessments.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS NICE TO HAVE

• No additional degree is stated. Current ISO/IEC 17025 assessor credentials or documented qualification are advantageous.

WORK EXPERIENCE MANDATORY

• At least 5 years of experience as a laboratory technical expert. Must demonstrate knowledge and application of ISO/IEC 17025 quality-system requirements, laboratory operations, testing methodologies, and regulatory compliance.

WORK EXPERIENCE NICE TO HAVE

• Experience assessing quality systems and chemical testing systems in Government or contract laboratories; environmental data validation; project management; metric-tool development; technical documentation and presentations.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a laboratory technical expert supporting Navy chemistry and laboratory-quality requirements.
• Conduct or support ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory assessments and evaluate quality-system compliance.
• Review laboratory operations, chemical testing methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
• Support assessments of Government and contractor laboratory quality systems and chemical testing systems.
• Support environmental data validation and related project-management activities.
• Develop and use performance/metric tools as required.
• Develop project plans and prepare technical documentation and presentations.
